CLIFFORD J. BRELAND “A.K.A.” Bre
– is nationally known as one of the most passionate, spiritual and
energized dance instructors. Clifford is nationally recognized for his
dynamic and unique choreography style.
Clifford is the
artistic director of Bre Dance Studio and Bre’s Performing Ensemble.
Clifford has trained with Mary Lynn, Arthur Mitchell, (full scholarship
with Dance Theatre of Harlem) and the Alvin Ailey School of Dance.
Clifford
received his Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from the University of
California, Riverside. Clifford has lectured in Dance at the University
of California, Irvine. Clifford has worked and collaborated with
legendary artists such as: Donald McKayle, Paula Kelly, Debbie Allen
and Leonard Simon Ph.D. Clifford has taught for the American College
Dance Festival, the California Fitness and Movement Workshop, the 12th
and 17th Annual International Association of Blacks in Dance Conference
and has served as an adjudicator for the American College Dance
Festival.
In 1988 Clifford co-founded with Ronald K. Nelson,
Bre Dance Studio in Riverside, California and to date thousands of
students have been trained by Bre’s passionate and nurturing teaching
style. Students that have come through the doors of Bre Dance Studio
have had positive life altering experiences and are living productive
and successful lives. Many of Bre’s students have gone on to work with
some of the Entertainment Industry’s biggest Stars. Clifford believes
that whether you are dancing for recreation or toward a professional
dance career, dance can take you on an enlightening journey to self
discovery.
